Sustainability
Meet the hand dryer that saves 1.4 million trees a year!
The importance of
sustainability and reducing the ecological 'footprint' of human
society is nowadays widely recognized. The protection of the
environment and reducing the use of natural resources is
the 'new global standard' by which products and services are
offered to consumers worldwide.
Mitsubishi Electric, manufacturer of the
Mitsubishi Jet Towel™ is committed to this 'new standard'
and gives meaning to its objectives.
Is paper sustainable?

Manufacturers of paper often argue that they are
using 80% recycled materials in the production of paper
towels. However, the fact still remains that the usage of paper
towels, which are discarded after single use, causes enormous
damage to our environment.
In the process of producing paper, precious natural resources are
still utilized. In addition, the production of paper is highly
polluting, accounting for great amounts of CO2 emission
and creating huge amounts of production wastes in the process.
Furthermore, paper towels have to be transported from the
production facility to the end-consumer.
Finally towels produce great amounts of consumer (paper)
waste.
Save dozens of trees per year!

A simple example¹:
- Take a common office, located in a 10 storey high office-building...
- Total consumption of an average
320,000 paper towels per month. - Produces an average of 770 Kg paper waste...
- This equals... an average 16 trees per month, or 192 per year!
If the waste were piled up, the stack would grow 28 meters
per month or 336 meters per year.
This equals an 80 storey high building, about the height of the
Empire State Building!
¹ Based upon a tree of 8 meters high with a diameter
of 14 cm, out of which 20,000 paper towels with a thickness of
0.088 mm can be produced.
CO2-emissions
The Mitsubishi Jet Towel™ is also very
sustainable when it comes to reducing CO2 emission. The
brushless motor of the Jet Towel ™ incorporates Mitsubishi
Electric's industry leading energy efficiency technology. This
keeps power consumption extremely low. The Mitsubishi
Jet Towel ™ only consumes 5W when it's in stand-by mode
and 560W when it's in operation(for about 10 seconds).
This compared to conventional hot air dryers, which uses
between 2200 W to 2500W. This lower power consumption results in a
reduction of 1300 Kg of CO2 emission per
year.
The alternative … The Mitsubishi
Jet Towel™
There is no bigger trend facing operators today than creating
environmentally friendly facilities. Apart from the substantial
cost savings you can achieve by employing the Mitsubishi Jet
Towel™, this hand dryer is an easy way to make a small, but
effective contribution to improve the environment. The Mitsubishi
